Summary
SP Group has won the tender to design, build and operate a district cooling and heating system for the new International Sports Park City in Chengdu, China.
SP plans to invest more than RMB 200m ($37.27m) into the sustainable energy management project as part of its 19-year energy service contract.
The solution, once operational next year, will enable the International Sports Park City to boost its energy use efficiency by over 30% for cooling and about 50% for heating. The sustainable cooling solution will be enhanced with an ice thermal energy storage system that will strengthen the system’s reliability and performance.
