Summary
The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) has released the latest edition of its ground source heat pumps design and installation standard for Canada and the U.S. to the public for review.
This new edition of the ANSI/CSA/IGSHPA C448 Design and Installation Standard for Ground Source Heat Pumps for Residential and Other Small Buildings marks the first update to these documents since 2016.
Proposed updates to these standards include new information on piping materials and heat transfer solutions, along with added sections on the planning, design, installation and commissioning of district energy systems and the design and installation of ground source heat pumps connected to energy foundations.
A draft of the new edition can be accessed here, with the document open to public comments and review until August 6.
