Infrastructure management company Ancala has acquired a 5 MW biomass facility in Croatia from renewable energy firm Akuo.
Ancala is an independent infrastructure manager with a diverse €4 billion portfolio of 18 investments in 15 countries.
It has now added a 5 MW green energy plant to its Central and Eastern European EU Renewables Platform.
This platform incorporates two facilities that generate renewable energy from forestry and agricultural biomass.
The first investment was a 5 MW biomass plant in Gospić, Croatia, which was commissioned in 2021.
This facility has long-term feed-in-tariffs and supply agreements in place. The unit features a wood-drying facility.
