“It’s like a mini electrical grid right? So what the microgrid will allow this campus to do is operate independently from the grid,” Brian Elwood, Regional Vice President of Xcel Energy said. “It will have controls in place so if there is ever a situation where they need to operate independently it will have the controls the tools the generation the resources to do that right here in Onalaska.”
