Johnson Controls, the global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, today announced a significant expansion at its Holme heat pump and chiller facility in the region of Aarhus, Denmark. The development will allow the company to produce and test larger, high-capacity commercial and industrial heat pumps to meet growing demand from customers across the globe. The investment is expected to create over 100 new jobs and is scheduled for completion by early 2026.

The investment will result in an additional 2300 square meters of production capacity and an 1800 square meter customer and test center including a state-of-the-art simulation of the customer environment. As part of the investment, existing buildings will also be modernized and upgraded with new production equipment and technology.

“This important milestone reinforces our commitment to a sustainable future while boosting local economic growth,” said Benthe Klokkerholm, vice president, Manufacturing Operations HVAC/R, EMEA. “Heat pumps are a critical technology for the energy transition typically using a third of the energy of conventional heating systems while reducing carbon emissions. The investment allows us to advance our technology leadership in key vertical markets such as district heating and cooling, data centers, food and beverage, and life sciences, and support our customers as they scale up their sustainability initiatives.”
