Kyiv has installed its first cogeneration gas-piston unit with a capacity of 1.5 MW, the city's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced on Telegram on Nov. 7.
The equipment was installed with the support of USAID and the Energy Security Project at one of the city's critical infrastructure facilities.
"Kyiv has requested an additional 15 cogeneration units, which are expected to arrive in batches over the next year," Klitschko said.
“The goal is to achieve an additional total capacity of approximately 170 MW within a year.”
