Summary
The UK Government’s Warm Homes Plan has committed to revise the performance standards of different heating systems, while offering enhanced funding for heat pumps.
The government added that it was committed to trying to encourage and incentivise more buildings to move to lower carbon heating solutions that it has identified in the form of heat pumps and district heating systems. However, it noted that there was still expected to be 10 million new boiler installations over the course of the next decade that could be optimised to reduce the resulting carbon emissions from buildings over this period.
