Summary
Romania is investing in the modernization and construction of high-efficiency cogeneration plants, as well as in the upgrading of district heating networks, with partial contributions from the Modernization Fund. The Ministry of Energy is set to support six projects in Suceava, Craiova, Constanța, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara and Arad with a total value of approximately 56 million euros, of which around 47 million euros provided as non-refundable financing through the Modernization Fund.
The first project involves rehabilitating nearly 47 kilometres of heating pipes in the municipality of Arad, aiming to reduce energy losses, enhance efficiency and extend the network’s lifespan by 30 years.
