E.ON Hrvatska builds 12 mln euro CHP plant for parquet maker

E.ON Hrvatska, the Croatian unit of German power utility E.ON, said its unit E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions (E.ON EIS) has reached a mechanical completion of a 12 million euro ($12.5 million) cogeneration facility running on biomass at a plant of Bauwerk Group Hrvatska, part of Swiss parquet manufacturer Bauwerk Group.

"It is the largest investment so far agreed by E.ON Hrvatska under a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a period of seven years after the launch of the facility," E.ON Hrvatska said in a press release on Thursday.

The cogeneration plant will use waste woodchips left from Bauwerk production of parquet at its factory in Djurdjevac, northeastern Croatia.
