Planning permission for 172 new homes at Millherhill in Midlothian have been secured.
This is part of a wider masterplan, which aims to create a new town near Edinburgh. It's set to include a mix of private sale, build-to-rent and affordable housing.
Surrounding the houses will be landscaped streets, extensive landscaping and a tree-lined corridor. They will lie within walking distance of the new Shawfair town centre, with a health club, offices, shops and restaurants, as well as new local schools and a train station.
All of the new homes will incorporate a district heating system, which eliminates the need for individual boilers and significantly reduces carbon emissions.
