Summary
An international consortium conducted a feasibility study on the capacity development opportunities of Moldova’s state-owned energy company, Termoelectrica. The final version was presented at meetings attended by World Bank representatives.
The recommended optimal solution is the construction of a new, high-efficiency combined heat and power plant with an electrical capacity of approximately 250 megawatts (MW) and a thermal capacity of around 180 MW, which would replace one of the existing combined heat and power plants in Chișinău (Source 1).
