NYSERDA
Summary
NYSERDA is pleased to share funding and technical experts are available to help energy managers and building owners design and plan the transition to highly efficient, resilient heating and cooling systems. The Large-Scale Thermal program (PON 5614) provides up to $750,000 to design a large-scale thermal system for large buildings and campuses.
Large-scale thermal systems may include geothermal, heat recovery, thermal energy networks, and thermal storage, as well as other approaches to reduce energy, decarbonize, and improve heating and cooling for large buildings and campuses.
Not sure how to get started?
The first step in submitting a project to PON 5614 would be to complete a feasibility study of the site, which can help you identify and evaluate opportunities to reduce energy costs and incorporate Large-Scale Thermal into your capital planning. If you have not yet initiated a feasibility study, there is cost-sharing available through NYSERDA’s FlexTech program. For additional details, please email FlexTech@nyserda.ny.gov.
Here is an example of how a campus in New York is already making the transition:
The Univesity of Albany has developed a Clean Energy Master Plan to map out the campus’ long-term energy transition, improving efficiency and reducing energy, even while adding onsite cooling capacity.
