Summary
The Ministry of Energy of Hungary has published calls for proposals to green and modernise district heating. District heating producers and suppliers can apply for a total of 96 billion forints (238 million euros). Applications can be submitted from 18 June.
The new calls will promote the substitution of natural gas by industrial heat pumps, geothermal heat or biomass, thus reducing Hungary’s import dependence, wrote Gábor Czepek, Deputy Minister of Energy in his Facebook post.
A total of 25 billion forints (62 million euros) is available for energy efficiency improvements, and 20 billion forints (50 million euros) is allocated for renewable heat sources, waste heat recovery, and interconnection with existing district heating networks.
