Summary
Singapore-based data centre developer DayOne has announced a €1.2 billion investment in a hyperscale campus in Lahti, Finland.
The facility will be built on a 98,901 square metre site in the Kiveriö district, a former industrial area. At full capacity, the project will provide 128MW of IT load. The first 50MW building is scheduled to be operational in 2027, with site demolition beginning in the third quarter of 2025.
The company said sustainability will be central to the development. Plans include using Finland’s cool climate for free cooling, deploying air-cooled chillers to avoid freshwater use, and exploring integration of waste heat into Lahti’s district heating system. Agreements have been signed with Lahti Energy and the city to strengthen grid resilience and support carbon neutrality targets.
