The government of Ontario is investing more than $6.2 million in eight research, innovation and modernization initiatives through its Forest Biomass Program, which supports initiatives that secure and increase long-term wood utilization across the province. Projects included:
- $130,000 to White River Forest Products to promote regional biomass use by studying the replacement of an on-site boiler with a combined heat and pyrolysis energy plant, which could produce marketable products like biochar and biocoal.
