In August 2024, Tabreed became the first district energy company globally to achieve the verified carbon standard at its SeaWorld Abu Dhabi plant. In 2024, it saved 2.64 billion kilowatt-hours of energy. The company announced in March 2025 the raising of its five-year $700 million green sukuk, the first issuance under its new $1.5 billion trust certificate issuance program. It was oversubscribed by nearly 2.6 times, with a profit rate of 5.279%. Al Marzooqi was appointed CEO in 2021. He is also the chairman of Tabreed Asia Central Cooling Co. and Tabreed Infrastructure and Central Cooling.
