Leaders in energy, workforce development and higher education gathered in Missoula on Tuesday to discuss how hydrogen production in Montana can drive economic growth, cut carbon emissions and secure long-term energy independence.

University of Montana representatives also framed higher education as a critical partner in building the hydrogen and renewable energy workforce. Kuntz said over the past five years the University has built more than $300 million worth of new facilities and that opens up opportunities for solar projects, renewable energy generation and campus retrofits designed to meet future needs.
