As cities face intensifying heat risks, this discussion will highlight how integrated planning can help urban areas adapt, protect communities, and build long-term resilience. The session will feature the Handbook for Urban Heat Management in the Global South, a new resource developed by the World Bank, UN-Habitat, and UNEP, which offers practical strategies and real-world examples for managing urban heat.
Experts from the Global Covenant of Mayors, Google, the World Bank, WRI, and UNEP will share insights on solutions, policies, and financing approaches to accelerate implementation.
