Chilean circular economy company Trongkai is planning to build a biorefinery in Maule region and connect it to an existing biomass-fueled cogeneration power station on the same site.
And scope exists for several more of these processing plants.
The biorefinery – with planned capacity to process 40,000–50,000t/y of wet agricultural industry residue such as tomato or olive pomace to obtain added-value products like antioxidants – is in the pre-engineering phase, BNamericas was told.
