Serbia's mining ministry has hired a consortium to consult it on the implementation of a 41.9 million euro ($48.7 million) renewable district energy project supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the bank said.
The project aims to invest in renewable energy and waste heat generation for several district heating companies in ten small and medium-sized Serbian cities, including Pancevo, Vrsac, Kraljevo, Nis, Bogatic, Becej, Krusevac, Novi Pazar, Paracin, and Kragujevac. Planned measures include the modernisation of substations and existing district heating networks, the EBRD has said previously.
