Summary
Geothermal drilling for potential district heating supply has officially started in the city of Konskie in Poland. The work is being done by UOS Drilling and is expected to last until February 2026.
The drilling operation is targeting to reach a depth of 2110 meters, where thermal waters at temperatures of around 55 °C and flowrates of 100 m3/hour are expected. Drilling of well GT-1 is being done within the premises of the local heating company Thermal Energy Company (Przedsi?biorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej) with the long-term plan of utilizing the geothermal resource for district heating. Connecting the thermal waters to the city’s heating system will be easiest and cheapest from the current well location.
