Summary
Plans for a new facility in East Yorkshire that would convert agricultural waste into energy, potentially heating more than 5,000 homes, have been given the go-ahead.
Permain Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Engie, submitted an application to East Riding of Yorkshire Council earlier this year for development on a site off Long Lane in High Catton.
The facility would accept up to 75,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of feedstock from farms in the area. It would generate biogas which would be upgraded to biomethane then connected via pipeline to be injected into the national grid.
