Summary
A binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed for the development of the world’s first open-space cooling geothermal system at the Jnayin Nourah Project, located at the Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project will utiliz eht patented PrimeLoop technology of geothermal cooling company Strataphy.
The MoU was signed by four parties including Strataphy as the provider of PrimeLoop technology, the Saudi District Cooling Company (Saudi Tabreed) as the district cooling infrastructure developer, and the consortium of “Best Land for Real Estate and Investment LLC” and “Daim Al Athar for Real Estate Co.” as the client and project owner.
Under the collaboration, Saudi Tabreed will provide a turnkey district cooling solution with an indicative cooling load of approximately 10,000 TR (~35 MWth), while Strataphy will deliver PrimeLoop Cooling. This will be the first open-space cooling application of geothermal technology in the world, and also the first geothermal-supported development on a university campus in the Middle East region.
