Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica said on Monday that it has signed a contract to develop a high-efficiency cogeneration plant powered by natural gas internal combustion engines in the southern city of Craiova, Dolj county.
The plant will supply thermal energy to Craiova's centralised district heating system (SACET), replacing an existing coal-based source, as well as electricity to the National Power System, Electrica [BSE:EL] said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
