Early Bird Deadline - Wednesday, April 5

Cancellation Deadline - Friday, May 5

Cancellation Policy

In-person Conference Registration

Cancellations received by Friday, May 5 can choose from three options:

  • Convert to virtual conference with a $400 credit to be used towards an IDEA event within one year.
  • Receive full credit to use towards an IDEA event within one year.
  • Refunded in full, less a $200 cancellation fee.

After Friday, May 5, fees must be transferred to virtual event, with no additional credits or refunds. 

Virtual Conference Registration
Virtual Conference Registrations cannot be cancelled and no refunds/credits will be issued.

Cancellation requests must be submitted to cheryl.idea@districtenergy.org, who will connect with you upon receipt to verify the options available to you. If you do not hear back from us within 2 business days of sending your cancellation request, please contact Cheryl at +1-508-366-9339. 

IDEA is not responsible for travel related delays or cancellations due to weather.

Spouse/Guest/Child Registration

Spouse/Guest registration includes: conference receptions; breakfasts; Welcome/Chair's Dinner; and special tours of Chicago. Does not include luncheons or conference technical content. Guests/Spouses cannot be someone who is in the industry.

PLEASE NOTE: Spouses must be registered by in advance of the conference to ensure they can take part in our tour events.

Student Registration

Full time students, not actively working in the district energy industry are invited to attend IDEA2023. 

To qualify for the student rate you must be a full time student at a college, university, or training school, not currently working in the District Energy industry. You must register with a .edu address and provide a copy of your student ID. After registering, IDEA will contact you for final approval of your registration. 

Please bring your student ID with you to the conference as IDs will be verified upon check in.

Government/Military Registration

To qualify for the government/military rate you must be active duty military personnel, an elected official, or employee of a federal, state or municipal agency or government body in a regulatory or policy for oversight role. If your organization is a "Government Agency" IDEA member, all registrants from your organization are eligible for this rate.

PLEASE NOTE: Operations staff or third party personnel that operate a district energy system at a public university, military base or municipality are not eligible for this rate. Please note that government registrations are ineligible for the volume discount. 

Volume Discount

IDEA Member Organizations registering 5 or more attendees at the same time are eligible for a group volume discount of 10%. Please contact Cheryl Jacques or call +1.508.366.9339 to process a volume discount. Volume discounts are not available for exhibitor, additional exhibitor, or non-member registrations. A volume discount is available only for members of IDEA completing full conference registration and must be processed as one transaction (group registration). Once submitted, individual registrations are not eligible for a volume discount due to credit card processing and transaction fees.

CEU

Attendees can earn up to 2.8 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) based on your registration items. IDEA has waived the fee for your CEUs. Simply select the CEU option on the registration form and IDEA will submit for the CEU certificates on your behalf.

2023 Annual Conference Golf Classic

On Sunday, June 4th, join colleagues and friends at Harborside International Golf Center, home to both the Port & Starboard Courses, that has been Chicago's home for golf since 1995. Harborside offers the premier golf experience in the Chicagoland area. As the only facility with two of Golfweek's ‘Best Courses You Can Play in Illinois' and the home to the most expansive driving range and practice facility.

Golfers will be given breakfast and bussed from the Hilton Chicago to Harborside Golf Center in the morning for an 18 hole course and conclude with a lunch at the Center to then be bussed back to the Hilton. If needed, you will be able to rent Callaway Golf Clubs.

The cost is $195.00 per person which will include round trip transportation, breakfast, cart, green fees, and a luncheon at the conclusion of the round. Club rentals available upon request. You can register for this amazing event when you register for IDEA2023.

Virtual: Conference Only

IDEA2023 Virtual Registration grants you access to the sessions that took place during the main program at IDEA2023. This includes access to Virtual Trade Show and unlimited access to all recorded conference sessions for 90 days after the conference closes.  Workshops are not included. All prices are USD.

Exhibitor Registration

In-Person Exhibitors:

Each in-person exhibiting company receives one complimentary full conference registration and two complimentary Additional Exhibit Booth Personnel registrations.

Additional exhibit booth personnel registration is designated for in-person exhibiting companies to add additional personnel to work the trade show booth at the event. This option is strictly limited to exhibiting company staff in the trade show exhibit hall and is not intended for non-exhibiting company attendees to pay to visit exhibitor booths.

Additional exhibitor registration includes all functions in the exhibit hall (receptions, breakfast, breaks, desserts). Registration does not include workshops, conference sessions, luncheons or dinners, though they are available for additional fees, along with technical tours. All prices shown below are USD.
