Travis Hickford-Kulak is the Vice President, Contract Utilities and Energy Systems, District Energy Canada for Corix Utilities Inc. He has 15-plus years of industry experience, including nearly a decade leading feasibility studies, renewable technology screening, financial and business analysis, regulation and tariff development, design, construction, and operations management for district energy utility infrastructure. Travis leads and manages a wide array of district energy projects including master planned developments, municipal scale service areas, and entire residential subdivisions. In his current role, Travis oversees multidisciplinary teams of professionals from the development and design phase through construction, final commissioning, and eventually transitioning teams into long-term utility operations. Travis has utilized his technical expertise and experience managing a wide variety of district energy projects for Corix throughout North America. These projects incorporate biomass, sewage, and waste heat recovery, geothermal, and solar thermal technology. As an active industry leader, Travis is widely certified and holds various accreditations in many aspects relating to the planning, design, construction, and operations of District Energy Systems.
