Bio

Martha Larson graduated from Northwestern University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  She began her career as an acoustical consultant for Kirkegaard and Associates in Chicago, advising on architectural acoustics and noise control issues for performing arts projects.  In 2004, she transitioned into project management by joining the Rise Group where she participated in large municipal and performing arts projects, most notably the Saint Louis Art Museum East Wing expansion. Martha came to Carleton in 2010 as the first Manager of Campus Energy & Sustainability.  

Martha's Carleton project portfolio includes creation of the 2011 Climate Action Plan which targest net zero campus carbon emissions by 2050, installation of the 1.65 MW Kracum wind turbine and development of a Utility Master Plan that will modernize the heating system and decrease campus carbon emissions by up to 30%.  Martha also manages Facilities Summer Capital Projects including the 2011-12 Laird Stadium renovation, the 2014 Academic Support Center, and the 2015 Chapel mechanical system upgrade.  Martha is also a cellist and vocalist focus on primarily jazz.
