The building systems and infrastructure industry is buzzing with words such as smart buildings, intelligent buildings, sustainable equipment and infrastructure. The vendors are soliciting frequently and offering integrated solutions to make our buildings smarter and more energy efficient. The expectation is that the facility operation and maintenance is data driven and automated, flexible enough to accept changes in institutional programs and new technologies. With this presentation we will walk you through the processes and strategies presently taken at University of Toronto for improved operation of the new buildings / major retrofits / building mechanical infrastructure upgrades.
