Session Abstract

The University of Texas System owns and operates seven (7) Chilled Water TES installation on five separate campuses.  Individually, the TES installations have been in service for 6 to 23 years, for a total of 82 years of operating experience (an average of 12 years each, to-date).  The CHW TES concept and technology are briefly reviewed.  The owner-operator perspective is presented to describe the various drivers for and benefits from its TES applications, including capital and operating costs vs non-TES options, and impacts on efficiency, redundancy, reliability, and resiliency.
