CHP as the Backbone of an Industrial Microgrid in Toronto

Session Abstract

This presentation tells the story of an industrial wax manufacturer’s journey of installing CHP as the backbone of their industrial microgrid. To protect manufacturing viability and mitigate risks from external factors, International Wax installed behind-the-meter cogen with islanding and blackstart capability, automatic import control in a congested, operating production facility in Toronto. This story will be told jointly by the owner, engineer, and OEM with focus on design, construction, commissioning & operating challenges and solutions.
