Clean Power Plan: Implications for District Energy

Summary

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed rules for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in existing power plants through section 111 (d) of the Clean Air Act. This presentation will provide an overview of these “Clean Power Plan” regulations, describe the implications for the district energy industry, and summarize the IDEA’s extensive comments on the draft regulation. The potential benefits for CHP projects will be addressed. The presentation will conclude with an update on the status and schedule for implementing the regulations.
