District Energy from the Start

Session Abstract

This presentation will discuss how a district energy system can provide an even greater benefit to a campus setting that is developed and constructed from the ground up. It will cover the merger between high efficiency building design and robust district energy planning and discuss options being considered to implement these two ideas side by side to achieve higher total site performance and deliver a project that meets the highest level of achievement in the Chicago Sustainable Development Policy. 

The HDR team will discuss their work to develop high performing sustainable energy solutions for the Chicago Focal Point Community Campus Development including development of a potential fuel cell based CUP and other efficient solutions.
