Summary

Where forest resources abound, woody biomass provides a locally-appropriate renewable energy solution to conventional fossil fuel systems. Site conditions, client objectives, and available wood fuels guide the design of biomass applications, and make for projects that are both unique and replicable where key conditions exist. Wisewood Energy shares examples of two types of small-scale biomass energy systems from our project development experience: combined heat-and-power, and district heating with potential future expansion into microgrid power generation.
