Summary

This case study reviews EMU’s recent Heating Plant upgrade involving replacement of their Solar Taurus 60 combustion turbine and corresponding heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) with a larger combustion turbine (Solar Taurus 70) and HRSG. The larger arrangement allows for complete campus power and steam requirements. The project was executed under a EPC contract with Engie which included guaranteed savings terms. Commonwealth as the OE provided design review, construction oversite and commissioning oversite.
