Session Abstract

De-carbonising of heat has become a hot topic over the recent years due to the increased awareness of current climate change due to human activities. This has created a growing interest for high efficient high temperature heat pumps in North America for district heating, I would like to present some case stories of where very efficient high temperature heat pumps which have been successfully implemented into the district heating systems in Europe. The projects ranges from 1,700 MBtu/h to 136,500 MBtu/h heating capacity and includes several different heat sources like air, seawater, sewage water and ground source water. Common for the projects is that the customer needed high outgoing water temperature of 158F – 195F.
