This presentation will focus on the use of electric resistive heaters for use in campus heating applications. We will discuss some of the applications within campuses and the advantages using electric resistive technology compared to fossil fuel fired heating systems. We will also discuss the advantages to using Medium Voltage (above 600V) in these heating applications and the pro’s and con’s of both MV electric resistance and MV electrode technology boilers. A case study of a university will be included in the presentation, who have selected electric resistance heating for the retrofit of their campus energy system.
