District Energy St. Paul operates a medium temperature hot water system and chilled water system. The hot water system is primarily prefabricated steel pipe with polyurethane insulation and the cooling system is steel pipe wrapped in a protective coating with cathodic protection. Both systems are wired for leak detection and are direct buried. This presentation will focus on savings and improvements from eliminating vaults for these systems with improved valve interface strategies.
