Energy Efficiency, Renewable Thermal and CHP – How the Changing Landscape of Environmental Attributes Provides Revenue to College Campuses

09-13-2023 13:43

Session Abstract

As demand for climate change solutions grows exponentially from voluntary commitments and state Renewable Portfolio Standards, colleges and universities have an ever-increasing opportunity to monetize campus-generated environmental attributes.  Drawing from Bucknell University, Fairfield University and Yale, this presentation will highlight (1) how CHP, thermal storage and energy efficiency projects are creating a revenue stream from Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and (2) the successes in engaging with regulators to create further incentive structures for all campus clean energy projects.
