Maximizing Energy Efficiency Through Condensing Economizers

08-16-2023 11:34

Session Abstract

By reducing exhaust temperatures from combustion, drying, heating and other processes beyond the dew point large amounts of energy can be recovered and utilized to offset fuel usage or increase plant capacity.  Not only are costs for fuel reduced but emissions of greenhouse gases are avoided with the technology.  Campus case studies include heating make up water, heating loop water, domestic hot water and other streams.  Muliple heating loops are possible.  Heat is recovered from boilers and gas turbines and combined into a single recovery unit.  Metallurgy selection and coil design are all specific for each application to maximize energy recovery and avoid detrimental low temperature corrosion issues.
