Summary

This presentation will discuss the need for autonomous, intelligent controls, while delving into centralized vs. distributed control and summarizing the top 5 issues facing microgrid end-users in their pursuit of the ideal microgrid. We will discuss cybersecurity, interface protocols, design considerations, inclusion of various DG systems, storage and renewables, and the need for a consistent microgrid interface with equipment. The various challenges to microgrid development will also be discussed.
