The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is taking a unique approach to their new utility master plan with a focus on optimization and condition assessment of their existing production and distribution systems along with traditional utility master plan activities. Investigations include load projections, distribution modeling, chiller retrofits, thermal storage strategies, steam tunnel condition assessments, and additional analyses designed to assess the viability of CHP, solar and wind energy, and additional heat recovery on campus.
