Session Abstract

This abstract will discuss a facility which uses a proprietary qPCR test for Legionella bacteria which can confirm a result in 40 minutes. This on site test is used as an initial confirmation of the presence or lack thereof of LDB before a sample is submitted for laboratory analysis. This test provides a level of comfort and confidence to the facility. It is also used to confirm whether disinfections associated with water management plans are indeed successful in remediating these bacteria.
