Session Abstract

ICF has developed a methodology to identify and quantify the potential for decarbonizing district energy microgrids with geothermal resources, CHP, and other technologies.  We recently applied this methodology to New York City buildings in an 80x50 study with Drexel University.  In our presentation, David Jones steps through the process for identifying locations to incorporate geothermal resources and CHP into district energy networks and evaluating the potential for carbon emission reductions, with results for NYC
