Summary

SMU recognized the opportunity to re-approach its fiscal strategy, including expense reduction through aggressive investment in facilities and energy management. SMU embraced a proactive energy management approach and use of planning, partnership and outsourcing. SMU has committed major investment to address deferred maintenance, improve energy efficiency, and leverage digitalization. SMU’s energy management program, strategy and investments are enhancing SMU’s campus, driving building performance and reducing operating costs and risk – laying a foundation for the future.
