Session Abstract

CDM Smith is applying a weighted/scoring process to assist a utility client in ranking nearly 20 candidate sites for a community-networked geothermal pilot project. A comprehensive spreadsheet tool was developed that offers an objective, streamlined approach to score the sites against weighted metrics for each of a long list of site variables. The ranking is rapidly updated as new data are entered.  This tool is providing for more efficient and cost-effective site screening, communication with stakeholders, and documentation of the process.
