Summary

There are multiple approaches to underground piping design and selecting the appropriate option depends on several factors including future expansion potential, existing infrastructure, design constraints, and jurisdictional requirements. This presentation outlines advantages and disadvantages of multiple installation methods including: offset-based design, displacement-compensating fittings, and prestressing options. A brief case study based on constructed project experience will be presented for each option to outline effective and proven applications.
