The WaterHub® - Sustainable Water Management Through Decentralized Reclamation and Reuse

10-25-2023 14:43

Session Abstract

With limited water resources and significant population growth, the City of Austin is becoming increasingly focused on sustainable water management. While municipally provided reclaimed water has been a success in Austin, centralized water reclamation and reuse often face several challenges related to service distribution, inconsistent effluent water quality and economic returns. As a result of these challenges, the City is looking to further expand the use of reclaimed water by developing satellite water reclamation capacity that compliments the City’s existing system. In conjunction with SW, the City of Austin and the University of Texas at Austin are working to investigate a decentralized water reclamation approach that serves the campus
