Summary

This paper will update the progress in the application of low speed, permanent magnet motors and how they can be used in direct-drive applications to eliminate the mechanical components from cooling tower designs. Case studies will be presented where an existing tower was refurbished utilizing the developed Motor Technology with a focus on the energy and other advantages of the solution.
