Vacuum heating integration with district energy systems

10-11-2017 14:32

Summary

Vacuum heating is a long known solution to improve steam systems efficiency, safety, comfort and heat distribution. Novel technology employs small vacuum pump (1-2 hours/day), modern plumbing and no steam traps. 25-30% fuel savings demonstrated in 2013-14 residential steam heating pilot project. Retrofit simplicity, flexibility and low cost can be utilized in district steam systems for heating buildings of any size/height.
