Summary

We design buildings and their associated utilities based on climatic data that is on average a quarter of a century out of date. Climate science tells us that these buildings will operate in vastly different climatic conditions than those we design to if they are to be around for the next 40 to 100 years. Shouldn't we do our best to design based on future climate conditions, incorporating all we know about the IPCC 5th assessment? This talk provides an overview of the weather-shift.com tool developed in partnership between Arup and Argos analytics to help solve this conundrum.
